On A.D. July 4, 1054, inhabitants of earth saw a bright object in the sky, easily visible in daytime. This was the supernova that created the Crab Nebula. At that time the moon was a small crescent. Warrior figures with horned or fringed headgear and carrying shields or spears is common in Fremont Style rock art. The large figure in this panel is outlined and solidly pecked, but despite the care that went into creating it the outline on the neck was not completed. Hunters, possibly using atlatls and darts instead of bows and arrows, successfully hunt sheep while a reclining flute player floats nearby. The figures in the photograph below (from a different section of the same panel) could be dancers.
