The Kokopelli Poetry of Allen Aslan Heart

Before I knew of Kokopelli, I began to write poetry as words touched my heart and I wrote...or typed as I listened. I remember sitting in a car going somewhere with Linda when this poem began to pour out and I found paper and pencil quickly to write it down before it disappeared.

Stars aborning,
           we take flight
                  to find the morning
                       of our night,
                           to ride the lifestream
                        of our day
                     and dance a new dream
                 on our way
          to journey far beyond what seems
   beyond the worlds of our dreams. 

Angels of the Light came blazing through as I was passing through the dining room one day and I sat down quickly and wrote most of it on paper. Then I went to my computer and completed it.

Angels of the Light

There was only light
  and radiant waves of love.
    We were the Light.
       We were Love.
           and we were One.
               We were a magnificent,
                   glowing,
                       loving Sun
                         sending forth Our Light to All
                           so the Universe would know
                             Eternal Truth
                            held by the Wisdom of Love,
                          the Love that I AM
                      the Love that We Are,
                   Light from a glowing, loving Star.

               The Power of our Love
              blazed intense and bright.
              Our Star could no more contain
                the Love and Light,
                   and We were Many.
                      We were magnificent,
                          glowing,
                             loving Angels
                                 carrying forth to All, Our Star
                                     so the Universe would know
                                       Eternal Wisdom
                                     embraced by the Truth of Love,
                                   the Love that I AM,
                                the Love that We Are,
                           Light from a glowing, loving Star.

                       In the depth of Love We came
                        to save this world from inner death,
                         to transmute matter into light,
                             to lift its low vibration
                                beyond the dark of night
                                    and spare this icy, denser realm
                                       its plunging, hopeless flight.

                                            In giving so much Light and Love
                                           we've nearly all forgot
                                         our magnificent, glowing, starry past
                                      believing what we're not.
                                   And now we must remember
                               the Truth of Who We Are -
                           Angels Beings Co-creating,
                       Sons and Daughters of a Star.
                 We are magnificent,
            glowing,
       loving Children
    of a nearly forgotten Sun
 whose Light goes forth to brighten All
 so the world would know it's One,
 enfolded by the Power of Love,
the Love that I AM,
the Love that We Are,
Light from a glowing, loving Star.

I was surprised then and I am still surprised today as I write this page. Is it just coincidence that the Legend of Kokopelli and Ice Flower was brought to me 17 years later? By a woman like Ice Flower who could understand what I was doing as I came up the canyon...someone who could ....

Walk hand-in-hand with me
to meet the fragrance of the day.  
Drink the pleasures of our life course,  
adventure in the play.  
At the confluence of our life streams
the Star Web River flows  
between the bright and starry shores  
dancing over stones  
to show the way beyond what seems,  
to Be the Spirit Light, 
together Be the Fragrance  
that opens inner sight.

...someone who already knew that ...

Beyond the meadow of light 
 and the forest dark
      is a garden of pure being.
          Open your heart
              and journey there with me
                  and we shall Dance the Spirals
                     and Sing the Songs.

...someone who knew WHO she was seeking...

A candle burns,
it knows not why.
not knowing of its dual birth,
nor remembering whence it came.

Many seeming deaths it's known
recalling ever none.
Bright its God-like beacon shone,
its radiance of the One.

A candle burns,
It forgets how long
apart from its Other Light
not knowing of its flaming Twin

Many seeming twilights passed,
midnights come and gone,
burning now at last as One,
its final Cosmic Dawn.
